Solid Bottom Assay Plates

Porvair’s range of solid bottom 96 well assay plates are specifically designed for fluorescence, luminescence and scintillation applications. Designed in the most popular format of 96 well with standard chimney well design to overcome crosstalk and contamination.

Black, white & black with white well

These plates are designed to give optimum results from any instrument which reads from the top of the plate.

384 well plates

384 well assay plates from Porvair Sciences are available in black, white and clear. These have been optimised for fluorescence, luminescence/scintillation and ELISA/turbidity measurements respectively.

There are versions that have a 30µl/well (round well) or a 120µl/well (square well). All 384 well assay plates are available in standard, high bind and tissue culture treated formats.

Clear Bottom Assay Plates

Clear bottom plates allow the cells grown on the bottom surface to be viewed using an inverse microscope or for light-emitting assay’s to be measured from the bottom.

24 well Krystal™ Black and white

Porvair’s collection of clear bottom 24 well Krystal plates are optimised for fluorescence and luminescence.

The special design of the plate eliminates well-to-well light crosstalk inherent with other clear bottomed microplate designs, enabling unmatched accuracy and repeatability of photometric readings.

For photometric applications where samples are typically large, Porvair’s range of unique black or white Krystal 24 plates provide a perfect solution. Offering twenty-four high volume (3.1 ml) wells in the convenient footprint of a standard 96-well plate the Krystal 24 provides a large surface area per well enabling efficient cell growth.

96 well Krystal™ Black and white

Porvair’s collection of clear bottom 96 well Krystal plates are optimised for fluorescence and luminescence.

A patented manufacturing process provides for clear, individual wells in an opaque matrix. The special design of the plate eliminates well-towell light crosstalk inherent with other clear bottomed microplate designs, enabling unmatched accuracy and repeatability of photometric readings.

384 well Krystal™ Black and white

The Krystal 384 well microplate range incorporates novel square wells with a large liquid capacity of 120µl per well increasing the achievable sensitivity of most HTS assays performed.

Using a proprietary manufacturing technique the Krystal 384 offers market leading plate flatness (+0.1mm tolerance) that translates into a significant increase in measurement precision and elimination of misreads when performing cell based assays using fluorescent imagers.

Krystal™ Glass Bottom Plates

Manufactured for imaging/laser applications.

Krystal glass bottom plates consist of a polystyrene upper part and a clear borosilicate glass sheet fixed to the base with a proprietary adhesive.

This process allows consistent flatness of the base.

PCR Plates

Porvair premium PCR plates are made from polypropylene for extra rigidity. These plates are compatible with the majority of 96- and 384-well block PCR and sequencing instruments, including FAST sequencers. Our expanded range includes traditional no-skirt, half-skirt and fully skirted plates with standard 350μl wells and in addition 200μl Low Profile versions of these. The latest ‘elevated’ or ‘chimney’ well plates are also catered for with several new products. To ensure full compatibility with robotic systems, these new DNA, DNA/RNAase- and pyrogen-free thermal cycler plates feature high rigidity to minimise distortion before and after thermal cycling.

A comprehensive PCR plate selection guide can be found on page 26 of the catalog (downloadable on this page). If you cannot see your sequencer in the list, please contact our sales representative who will be pleased to advise you of the most suitable plate for your application and equipment.
