Quality control

Like in all other fields of laboratory medicine quality control is a fully integrated part of the day to day routine.

For your convenience we offer a range of controls which, when regularly used, provide for an optimal check of your system.

Depending on the control selected, you are able to monitor individual procedures, reagents, or equipment.

Coombs-Control

In order to rule out false negative results of the Coombs test occasionally caused by insufficient washing, neutralization of the anti-human globulin, poorly washed glassware or non-functional reagents Coombs Control cells are used.

A 5% cell suspension sensitized with human IgG antibodies, which always provide for a positive reaction when used together with completely active anti-human globulin.

Dweak-Control

A 3% suspension of Dweak cells provides for a known positive control for the detection of Dweak in the indirect antiglobulin test.

Control-Set

Consists of each one A2B CcD.Ee Kk and one O ccddee kk cell in a 5% suspension and is used for the daily quality control of the ABO and Rh determinations.

Rh-Control

The high protein content in polyclonal IgG antisera may cause spontaneous agglutination during the Rhesus determination in samples with a positive direct antiglobulin test.

In order to avoid any false interpretation of results, it is important to include a control with each test.

Rh-Control contains all the significant components of our antisera without the antibody, making it the ideal control for Rh testing. Therefore, it is always advisable to use antisera and control sera from the same supplier.

Sero-Control

This is a known positive control that can be used in the same way as patient serum.

It provides an effective control for the test system and reagents in antiglobulin and enzyme tests.

Sero-Control is a mixture of stabilized IgG antibodies that reacts positively with all human red cells.

Seroweak-Control®

Seroweak-Control® serves as a weak positive control, which is used like a patient serum and which allows for the monitoring of the activity of reagents and test systems in the indirect antiglobulin test.

Seroweak-Control® contains approx. 10 ng (0.05 I.E.) pooled human anti-D antibodies.
