Biosen C-Line Glucose & Lactate Analyzers
The Biosen C-Line series sets the standard for rapid, high-precision measurement of glucose and lactate. Whether used in diabetes clinics, laboratories, or elite sports facilities, Biosen analyzers deliver lab-quality results with exceptional efficiency.
Available as single-channel (glucose only) or dual-channel (glucose and lactate) systems, the Biosen C-Line combines robust chip sensor technology with a low cost per test. The system is available in two configurations—GP+ for low-throughput point-of-care and Clinic for moderate-throughput series measurement—ensuring a perfect fit for your workload.

Low Maintenance, High Value
Chip Sensor Technology
At the heart of every Biosen analyzer is EKF’s proprietary chip sensor technology. Unlike traditional electrode-based systems, these sensors are designed for longevity and ease of use:
- Long Sensor Life: Up to 60 days (7,500 tests) for glucose and 50 days (6,000 tests) for lactate.
- Minimal Maintenance: No electrode cleaning required; chips are easily exchangeable by the user.
- Sample Flexibility: Compatible with whole blood, plasma, or serum (10–20 μl sample volume).
Easy glucose and lactate measurement in 3 steps:
Collect capillary blood sample
Place capillary into cup and mix
Results in 20-45 seconds
Technical Support & Performance Specifications
Comprehensive information regarding the measurement capabilities, connectivity, and maintenance requirements for the Biosen C-Line glucose and lactate analyzer series.
Biosen C-Line measures Glucose and/or lactate levels in whoile blood, plasma and serum.
A 10ul or 20ul sample is required for one test, depending on the type of prefilled Glucose/Lactate Hemolyzing Solution used.
The cycle time from test to test depends on the concentration in the sample. The test result is displayed after about 20 seconds, followed by a flush sequence to clear the sensor signal prior to the next measurement. Depending on the Biosen C-Line model and the sample characteristics, a maximum throughput of 120 tests per hour can be achieved.
Enzymatic-amperometric using chip sensor technology.
- Glucose: 0.5 – 50 mmol/L (9 – 900 mg/dL)
- Lactate: 0.5 – 40 mmol/L (5 – 360 mg/dL)
The shelf-life of the Sensor on the device is 60 days or 7500 tests for Glucose and 50 days or 6000 tests for lactate.
Yes. Up to 2,000 sets of results together with date, time, position and tray number can be stored in the device’s memory.
Yes. All Biosen C-Line devices have PC and network connectivity via RS232C, USB, and encrypted Ethernet interfaces, and Printer connectivity via RS232C interface. They are also compatible with middleware such as EKF Link for transfer of data from the device to the LIS/LIMS of the medical facility or laboratory. It is also possible to use EKF Link Lite to print out results on a network printer when connected to a PC and using EKF Link Lite.
There are two different Biosen C-Line models, each designed for different scenarios. The Biosen C-Line range consists of the Clinic and GP+. The Clinic has been developed for use in sports facilities, clinics, or laboratories that have moderate demand for sample testing. The GP+ is designed for small clinics and surgeries with small sample testing demands and is likely to be used as a POCT device.
Yes. The Biosen C-Line analyzer performs the calibration automatically. The operator can choose from three different calibration modes: ‘before measurement’, ‘periodic’, or ‘time account’. EKF Diagnostics provides a standard solution to calibrate the glucose and lactate testing system
Normal and pathological controls are available:
- ‘ReadyCon Norm’ and ‘ReadyCon Pat’ are ready-to-use controls
- ‘EasyCon Norm’ and ‘EasyCon Pat’ materials include control of handling by the operator.
The device should be subject to regular maintenance. We recommend that the exchanger and pump tube are replaced every six months and that the sample cannula is replaced annually. These steps are described in detail in the instruction guide and can be performed by users.
Yes. Biosen C-Line comes with a warranty of one year from the date of shipping. Expected lifetime of the device is 5 years.
