Safety & Precision
Hands-Free Cryogenic Preparation
The CryoPod Filling Station modernizes cryogenic workflows by replacing manual liquid nitrogen pouring with a fully automated, hands-free dispensing system. An integrated internal lift mechanism ensures the carrier is precisely aligned for optimal charging, significantly reducing the risk of LN2 splashes or operator exposure.
To support flexible laboratory schedules, the station includes an automatic top-off function that maintains the carrier's thermal integrity. This feature ensures the LN2 charge remains at capacity until the user is ready for retrieval, effectively preventing premature warming and protecting sample viability during busy shift transitions.
Workflow
Streamlined Charging Process
The CryoPod Filling Station automates the liquid nitrogen (LN2) charging process through a systematic, user-friendly workflow that enhances lab efficiency.
To begin, the operator removes the CryoPod lid and secures it in the dedicated holster located on the inside of the station door. The carrier is then placed onto the internal tray and inserted fully into the unit.
Once the door is closed, the filling process is initiated with a single button press on the intuitive color touchscreen. An internal lift system automatically elevates the carrier to the dispenser to begin the cycle, which is completed in less than 15 minutes.
After the automated charging is finished, the station lowers the CryoPod for safe removal. If the user is not immediately available, an automatic top-off function maintains the LN2 charge level, ensuring the carrier remains ready for use without thermal degradation.
System Integration & Operational Excellence
Considerations regarding the integration of automated LN2 charging into existing infrastructure, focusing on safety standards, thermal stability, and long-term reliability.
The system is designed for maximum flexibility, supporting connection to either a centralized facility LN2 supply or a local, stand-alone dewar. This ensures the station can be deployed in diverse settings—from centralized biobanks to smaller, specialized research laboratories—without requiring extensive facility remodeling.
By standardizing the LN2 charging process, the station eliminates the variability associated with manual filling. The automated cycle ensures the CryoPod Carrier is always charged to its optimal level, while the "top-off" feature maintains thermal stability until the moment of transport, significantly reducing the risk of accidental sample warming.
The station significantly mitigates the risks associated with cryogenic handling. By automating the dispensing process and providing dedicated lid storage, it minimizes the potential for LN2 splashes, reduces operator exposure to cryogenic temperatures, and removes the need for manual lifting and pouring of liquid nitrogen.
To ensure continuous uptime in professional environments, the station comes with a comprehensive one-year warranty that includes onsite service, travel, and spare parts. Its robust design is engineered for high-frequency use, requiring minimal routine intervention beyond standard laboratory equipment care.
