MIC qPCR cycler
The MIC (Magnetic Induction Cycler) utilizes patented technology to provide high-speed, accurate qPCR results in a compact, portable format.
By using magnetic induction for heating and forced airflow for cooling, it achieves exceptional temperature uniformity. In a spinning rotor, every tube is exposed to the same thermal environment. This centrifugal action ensures that temperature uniformity is maintained at an incredible 0.05°C, eliminating the "edge effects" and thermal lag commonly found in standard Peltier blocks. This results in faster run times and more reproducible data across all 48 wells.

Technical & Operational FAQ
Essential information for integrating the Mic qPCR cycler into professional laboratory workflows.
Unlike Peltier blocks that rely on conductive heating, Mic uses magnetic induction to heat only the rotor. This ensures superior temperature uniformity (±0.05°C), faster cycling times, and eliminates the need for a heated lid or constant recalibration.
Yes. Mic is an open system compatible with most standard qPCR chemistries. For protocols optimized for slower cyclers, the software includes a 'Standard Taq Temperature Control' option to mimic traditional heating rates and ensure seamless assay transfer.
Absolutely. Up to 10 Mic units can be linked to a single PC via Bluetooth®, allowing laboratories to scale from 48 to 480 samples. The software can merge data from multiple runs into a single analysis with high reproducibility.
Mic is factory-calibrated and requires no ongoing optical alignment or thermal calibration due to its fixed optical path and embedded rotor sensors. For regulated environments, an optional Temperature Verification System (TVS) is available for annual validation.
The Mic is backed by a 3-year replacement warranty, which can be extended to 5 years. In the event of a hardware issue, the unit is replaced rather than repaired on-site, minimizing laboratory downtime and eliminating expensive service contracts.
